Anforderungen
Broad knowledge and practical experience in AI and applied Machine Learning is a must Excellent Master and subsequent PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other related fields with a focus on information technology or technology Broad interest in diverse scientific topics Self-motivated personality with a curiosity for working in a multidisciplinary team environment on scientifically challenging problems Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English with extensive vocabulary is required (at least B2 level according to the CEFR) Hands-on experience with ML/DL workflows and common software libraries Experience with statistical machine learning, including uncertainty quantification, probabilistic modeling, and learning from noisy or incomplete data is a plus Practical experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) systems is an advantage Your experience should be documented in research papers and Open Source code projects Our Benefits for You Meaningful tasks: The position offers a varied and diverse role in an international environment Work-life balance: Optimal conditions for balancing work and private life, as well as a family-friendly company policy. Together with our partners, we develop new and innovative applications of Machine Learning. You will connect to scientists and investigate possible applications of ML in fields like Chemistry, Numerics, Computational Biology, Astrophysics, Particle Physics etc.
You will be involved in all phases of this process. You will Identify new applications for Machine Learning in science, engineering, and technology Develop, implement and refine ML techniques Implement parallel ML training on the High Performance Computers Engage in national and international ML/DL communities, most importantly in the Helmholtz AI platform (https:/www.helmholtz.ai/) Present research results at scientific meetings, conferences, and as scientific papers Contribute to educational events, such as courses and hackathons
